TO ERR IS HUMAN; FORGIVE DIVINE
TO ERR IS HUMAN; FORGIVE DIVINE
BY PROF WAQAR HUSSAIN
It is human trait to commit error and divine magnanimity is to forgive him. Lucifer seduced Eve and Adam and both fell into his trap as they were prone to error. But God forgave the both and sent them in this world as a mild punishment. So the creation of this world is the fruit of an error. In fact, error creates diversity which is liked by God. All religions present concept of errors, their remedy by penitence, assure Forgiveness of God and ultimate place in the Heaven. It is quoted in a Hadith that God says if human being had not committed any sin, He would have created another world. Perhaps it is the reason that inclination towards wrong doing is planted in man's nature. Sin is departure of man from God and contrition is its reversal. In doing so man earns love of God and becomes cynosure of His eyes: a status not acceded by angels in spite of constant rolling the beads of rosary in praise of God for ages. The sinful take lead over the sinless only because God doesn't like monotony. Every living and non-living object in this universe has distinguished entity; diversity is the order of the whole creation. Had there been no sins, many of God's attributes- The Merciful, The Beneficent-The Forgiver-- would not have come into action. So there is multidimensional philosophy in the reality that to err is human; forgive Divine.
