ONE STORY

       There lived a labourer in a village. By the irony of fate,his workplace closed and he became jobless. He searched for work for many days but couldn’t get. Meanwhile he spent all his saved money and reached to level of starvation. He was deeply worried and all the time was thinking about the solution.He decided to leave the village and move to a nearby city, with hope to get some work there as the cities always had big opportunities . He took his wife in confidence; she also agreed for migration.He started preparation and one day, the labourer and his wife took some necessary luggage, a egg laying hen and rode on their donkey early in the morning and set off for the city.

     They had a long journey, the sun was setting and the city was still far away.The donkey was exhausted and gasping and was dead hungry, the same, were their feeling.

The problem was that he had only one Dirham. It was impossible to saturate hunger of all four with this petty amount. He though a lot but couldn’t get any viable solution. Then he shared his problem with his wife and asked her to give any suggestion.Women have innate managerial skill since ages.She started pondering ; she thought of buying banana; pulp would fill up our stomach and peels would be enough for donkey , but the hen would die of hunger, so she rejected this idea. Now she decided to buy melons; pulp for us and its seeds for the hen; now the donkey’s live was at stake, she jilted this thought.Then she contemplated of buying water melon; pulp for us, seeds for the hen and its thick covering for the donkey; she became very happy on this workable solution; a triumphant smile flashed on her face, making it pink. She suggested her husband with conviction to buy a watermelon. He went to the market of nearby village and bought a watermelon. Both of them ate the pulp; gave seeds to the hen and coating to the donkey. So all four got saturated.The labourer became very happy over the sagacious choice that saved all and applauded her with open heart.

ONE THOUGHT 

             In this modern era, idea of multitasking and multi-benefits  are in vogue. How to get many kind of benefits from a machine? How to take poly-use of any work? How to draw multiple gain of any thing ?For instant, cellphone is a little plastic package, assembled in a way that it performs multiple of task and can be used for different purposes. One can use it as a phone, radio, television, camera, calculator, watch, computer, tape-recorder, compass, library, game device, type-writer, walkies-talkie, newspaper, photo-album, phone book, writing pad, etc. As watermelon satisfied hunger of four individuals; mobile phone quenches thirst of number of needs of individuals.

             In this modern epoch, only those nation are economically prosperous that are acting upon “watermelon policy”. They are inventing such things which can perform multifarious functions. Similarly, those entrepreneur  are making headway that are employing multitasking skill in their business or work or making things. For example, grocery shop, green grocery shop, meat shop, cloth shop, garment shop, utensil shop, medical store, general store, bakery, boutique , electronic shop, sports shop- have been replaced by “Mall”.The shopping Malls  are becoming popular day by day for their “multitasking”and filling multiple needs of people conveniently at one place. Success formula lies in “Watermelon Policy”; to get prosperity as convenience ,comfortableness and poly benefits are the core need of people.
