        Corona virus emerged in Wuhan city of China in December  2019 and within a month, it spread profusely, infecting about three thousands people and killing 80.The plight of 110 million population of Wuhan is deplorable where hospital are teeming with patients and medical stores have run short of medicine,death is reigning  and panic has gripped the entire area.People have stored food items and hidden in their homes.Apart from China, the Corona virus has crossed the boundaries and has entered in 20 countries.By each passing day, Corona fever is becoming pandemic and its fear  is hanging like sword of Damocles over the entire global population.As there is no vaccine available to combat the Corona virus so there is Hobson's choice to keep away from it  and this is only possible by knowing the details of Corona virus and precautionary measures.

Most causes respiratory track infection.

        In recent Corona virus crisis, a novel strain of Corona-virus 2019 nCoV  was found in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Wuhan is a city  with 110 million population. So far 25 death have been reported and 547 confirmed cases.National Health Commission daily report of 26th, Janauary says 2744 cases and 80 deaths. Wuhan virus has 70% genetic similarity with SARC-CoV. It is suspected that this virus originated  from snakes or bat.Out of the first 41 people infected; two -third had link with Huanan Seafood whole sale market , which also sold live animals. It shoes that virus probably transmitted from animals.Other countries that have confirmed cases are: Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong , United States, Singapore, France, Nepal, Sri lanka, Cambodia,Australia, Malaysia, Canada,UK( WHO did not confirm it)

         Virus enter cell and virus particle is uncoated and RNA genome enter cytoplasm. Genome attaches to ribosome for translation. RNA  genome make new copies using host cell machinery,thus increase in number.Its incubation period is for 2-14 days.

There are two test to identity corona virus; first one is PCR Nucleic Acid Testing in which DNA of virus is detected. Second is "crown morphology" of corona virus is seen through Electron Microscope.The Minister of state for Health Zafar Mirza admitted that we have not enough facilities to identify and screen corona virus.So, we must be extra careful and should adopt measures to keep it at a bay.

        As far as ts treatment is concerned ,no vaccine is available so far . Suspected person is advised to wear mask.  US CDC  prescribed that patient should take flue medication, drink fluid and take rest.When its vaccine will come in market?This questions peeps in every mind. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH (NIH) is hooping for human trial of medicine by April 2020. Chinese Centre of Disease Control and Prevention CCDC has started developing vaccine against noval Coronovirus. Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovation ( CEPI)  is funding three vaccine projects and hope to have a vaccine by jun 2020.So, at this stage, "precaution" is the best "vaccine"..

          Its symptom includes;Fever, coughing, breathing difficulty,in sum, flu like manifestation.Precautions are the more viable and practical solution to keep safe.It incledes:Regular hand washing; covering mouth and nose as it is air born disease ( spread by air); avoid close contact with person showing respiratory illness as it is contagious disease( spread by touch); doctor should use bunny suit (protective clothing from head to toe);keep away from pet animals; cook food completely especially meat or eat fruit and vegetables; avoid touching eye,nose or face of anyone; put vicks or oil in nose and try to breath through nose;keep moistened throat; and avoid catching flue.

Another question that comes in mind is about its mortality rate? China say 4% patient dies; WHO say 25% get serious illness; and most of the neutral observers have calculated mortality rate of 10%.It means one out of ten kick the bucket and nine get well.

      There is a looming threat about its colossal damage.Dr Sallaudin Qadri said that any virus can become pandemic if four factors are available.If  it is a new type of virus; it can be transmitted from animal to human; human body can develop a disease and virus can spread from human to human. Unfortunately, all four factor are there.So, the world community should fight it on war footing.

Pakistan is said to have five cases; three(Chines) in Services Hospital Lahore and two in Nishtar Hospital Multan. But these cases are not officially confirmed.But it is imminent need of the time to first screen the people coming from china from all corridors; air port, sea port and land route. Second, a massive awareness campaign is to be launched in print,electronic media and social media.Third if there is any confirmed case, he should be kept in quarantine. But one fact should be kept in mind, it is winter season and one often gets flue but every person getting cold should not be labelled with Corona virus before proper investigation.As anxiety of disease worsen the malady many fold. There is formula in medicine; two and two is not four, it is twenty two.It means if one get sick and then get anxious about it, the disease will not be in tune of 4 but it will increase to 22.Further there is maxim: 'cat has nine lives" meaning it is difficult to kill a cat, being tough.But in another adage, it is said:" care killed a cat" . It shows how dangerous it is anxiety that it killed sturdy nine lives having cat.So avoiding worry and anxiety is also a "treatment."

9) always keep throat moistened; never let it dry.

کرونا وائرس: تعارف اور بچاؤ !

     دسمبر2019  میں چین کے شہر ووہان میں کرونا وائرس نے سر نکالا اور دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے تقریبا تین ہزار افراد کو ان لیا اور اسی لوگ لقمہ اجل بن گئے۔ گیارہ کروڑ آبادی والے ووہاں شہر میں ہسپتالوں میں مریضوں کی بھیڑ ہے اور ادویات کی دکانوں پر سٹاک ختم ہوچکا ہے۔ ہر طرف موت رقص کر رہی ہے؛ خوف و ہراس کے بھوت کا سایہ ہے؛ بےچینی اور اضطراب کی ہوائیں چل رہی ہیں؛ لوگ اپنے ہی ہم جنس لوگوں سے خوفزدہ ہیں ؛گھروں میں راشن جمع کرکے چھپ گئے ہیں. کل کیا ہوگا؟ ہر کوئی یہ سوچ رہا ہے اور خدشات میں لپٹے خواب بن رہا ہے ۔ کھڑکی دروازے بند کرکے اس سوچ میں گم ہے کہ موت کا بھوت باہر سے اندر آئے گا یا میرے اندر سے باہر نکلے گا ؟ ان حالات میں امید کی کرن چین کی حکومت کا اعلان ہے کہ چھے دنوں میں ایک ہزار بیڈ کا ہسپتال بن جائے گا اور جلد ویکسین مارکیٹ میں آ جائے گی۔ لوگ بھی زندگی کے شجر سے پیوستہ رہ کر  امید بہار رکھ کر بے خوف جیون کے انتظار میں بیٹھے ہیں۔

 یہ تو چین کے حالات تھے جبکہ تقریبا بیس ممالک میں یہ وائرس رپورٹ ہو چکا ہے: جن میں تائیوان، ہانگ کانگ، جنوبی کوریا، جاپان، تھائی لینڈ، سنگاپور ملائیشیا ، نیپال ، سری لنکا، آسٹریلیا، امریکہ، کینیڈا وغیرہ شامل ہیں۔

   انسان میں بیماریوں کا آنا معمول کی بات ہے۔ مسئلہ تب پیدا ہوتا ہے جب کوئی ایسی بیماری جنم لے لے، جس کا علاج موجود نہ ہو۔ بدقسمتی سے کرونا وائرس کے خلاف کام کرنے والی ویکسین ابھی تک ایجاد نہیں ہوئی ۔ایسی صورت میں واحد حل یہی بچتا ہے کہ کرونا وائرس سے دور رہا جائے ۔ یہ اسی وقت ممکن ہوگا، جب کرونا وائرس کے متعلق مکمل جانکاری اور حفاظتی تدابیر کا مکمل ادراک ہو۔

     کرونا وائرس کا ایک "گروپ" ہے جو پرندوں، ممالیہ، اور انسانوں میں بیماری پیدا کرنے کی صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں ۔ انسانوں میں یہ وائرس نظام تنفس پر حملہ کرتا ہے اور انفیکشن کا باعث بنتا ہے جو عام طور پر معمولی ہوتی ہے مگر چند لوگوں کے لئے اتنی خطرناک ہو جاتی ہے کہ زندگی کا چراغ گل کر دیتی ہے ۔ کرونا لاطینی لفظ ہے جس کے معنی ہیں "تاج" (کراون) اس کی وجہ تسمیہ یہ ہے کہ الیکٹران مائکروسکوپ میں وائرس پر نکلے قمقمے شاہی تاج کی شکل میں نظر آتے ہیں۔ اس مشابہت کی وجہ سے اسے کرونا کہا جاتا ہے۔ یہ وائرس ساٹھ کی دہائی میں پہلی دفعہ مرغی میں دیکھا گیا اور اس کی دو اقسام نزلہ سے متاثرہ افراد میں شناخت ہوئیں۔ اس کی مشہور سات اقسام ہیں۔ اس کی ایک قسم کا نام سارس ہے جس نے 2003 میں چین میں تباہی مچائی اور اٹھ ہزارلوگوں کو اپنی لپیٹ میں لے لیا جبکہ 774 افراد زندگی کی بازی ہار گئے۔ موجودہ تباہی کا باعث بننے والا وائرس کرونا این( این سی او وی ) ہے۔ کرونا وائرس کی جو بھی قسم ہو ،اس کا نشانہ نظام تنفس ہی ہوتا ہے۔عالمی ادارہ صحت نے اکتیس دسمبر 2019 میں بتایا کہ ووہان میں کرونا این وائرس موجود ہے۔ یہ وائرس جنیاتی سطح پر 70 فیصد سارس وائرس سے ملتا ہے۔ اس کے بارے میں خیال ہے کہ یہ سانپ یا چمگادڑ سے انسانوں کو لگا ہے ۔ چین میں 41 متاثرہ لوگوں پر تحقیق ہوئی تو پتہ چلا کہ کہ چھیاسٹھ فیصد لوگوں کا تعلق "ہوہاں سی فوڈ مارکیٹ" سے ہے۔ جہاں زندہ جانوروں کی فروخت بھی ہوتی ہے۔ گویا یہ امکان تقویت پکڑتا جارہا ہے کہ یہ کرونا این جانوروں سے انسانوں تک منتقل ہوا ہے۔              

    کرونا وائرس کی موجودگی کو معلوم کرنے کے لیے دو ٹیسٹ ہیں ۔ پہلا ٹیسٹ نیوکلیک ایسڈ ٹیسٹ ہے جس میں وائرس کے ڈی این اے کی موجودگی کا پتہ لگایا جاتا ہے ۔ دوسرے ٹیسٹ میں الیکٹران مائیکروسکوپ سے وائرس کے کراؤن کو دیکھ کر اس کی موجودگی کو معلوم کیا جاتا ہے۔ وفاقی وزیر صحت ظفر مرزا نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان میں اس وائرس کی شناخت اور سکرینگ کے لیے انتظامات ناکافی ہیں۔ اس لیے ہمیں اس سے بچاؤ کی طرف بھرپور کوشش کرنی چاہیے۔ 

 جب یہ وائرس کسی انسان کے جسم میں داخل ہوتا ہے تو چار سے چودہ دنوں تک بیماری ظاہر ہوجاتی ہے۔ اس کی علامات میں بخار، کھانسی ، بلغم اور سانس لینے میں دشواری شامل ہیں۔ مختصراً زکام کی علامات ظاہر ہوتی ہیں ۔

اس کے علاج کے لیے ویکسین دریافت نہیں ہوئی ۔ اس لیے امریکی محکمہ سی ڈی سی نے ہدایت جاری کی ہے کہ زکام کی ادویات ہی دی جائیں، مشروبات کا استعمال کیا جائے اور زیادہ سے زیادہ آرام کیا جائے ۔

 ویکسین کب ایجاد ہوگی؟  یہ سوال ہر شخص کے ذہن میں آتا ہے۔ قومی ادارہ صحت کے مطابق اپریل 2020 میں ویکسین انسانوں پر ٹرائل کے لیے آجائے گی ۔ چین کے 'بیماریوں کے دفاع ' کے محکمہ نے بتایا ہے کہ ویکسین تیار کرنے کا کام شروع ہو چکا ہے ۔ جبکہ 'وبائی امراض کی روک تھام' کا ادارہ تین ویکسین پر فنڈنگ کر رہا ہے اور پر امید ہے کہ جون 2010 تک ویکسین بن جائے گی۔ اس لیے ابھی احتیاط کو ہی "ویکسین" سمجھنا چاہیے۔ اس بیماری میں مبتلا شخص کے بچنے کے کتنے چانسز ہیں؟  چین کا دعویٰ ہے کہ کرونا وائرس میں مبتلا افراد میں سے صرف چار فیصد لوگ مرتے ہیں ، چھیانوے فیصد  صحت یاب ہوجاتے ہیں لیکن عالمی ادارہ صحت کے مطابق پچیس فیصد افراد شدید بیمار ہوجاتے ہیں جبکہ نیوٹرل آبزرور کے خیال کے مطابق شرح اموات دس فیصد ہے یعنی؛ دس مریضوں میں سے نو ٹھیک ہو جاتے ہیں.

 کرونا وائرس سے بچنے کے لئے  دس حفاظتی تدابیر ہیں۔ ہاتھ کو بار بار دھوئیں، منہ اور ناک کو ڈھانپیں کر رکھیں یا ماسک پہنیں کیونکہ یہ و ائرس ہوا  سے پھیلتا ہے ، نزلہ زکام کے مریض کو چھونے سے باز رہیں اور بیمار شخص کی چیزوں کو بھی نہ چھوئیں کیونکہ یہ بیماری چھونے سے بھی پھیلتی ہے، ڈاکٹرز کو خرگوش سوٹ (بنی سوٹ) پہننا چاہیے ، پالتو جانوروں سے دور رہیں ، خوراک خصوصا گوشت کو اچھی طرح پکائیں، کسی بھی شخص کے منہ، ناک یا چہرہ کو ٹچ نہ کریں، ناک میں وکس یا کوئی تیل لگائیں اور  ناک سے سانس لینے کی کوشش کریں، گلا خشک نہ ہونے دیں اور زکام سے بچیں ۔

غیر مصدقہ اطلاع کے مطابق پاکستان میں پانچ مریضوں میں کرونا وائرس ‏موجود ہے ؛ تین لاہور میں ہیں اور دو ملتان میں۔ اس لیے ہمیں اب کرونا وائرس کو سیریس لینا چاہیے  اور  اقدمات  کرنے  چاہیں  ۔اول: چین سے آنے والے ہر شخص خواہ وہ چینی ہو یا کسی اور قومیت کا ،اس کی سکرینگ لازمی ہے۔ دوم:  پرنٹ میڈیا، الیکٹرانک میڈیا اور سوشل میڈیا پر اس بیماری کی جانکاری دینی چاہیے تاکہ لوگ مناسب احتیاطی تدابیر استعمال کرکے اس سے محفوظ رہ سکیں۔  سوم: یہاں ایک اور امر قابل توجہ ہے کہ آجکل سردیوں کا موسم ہے اور نزلہ زکام عام ہے۔ یہ نہ ہو کہ ہر معمولی زکام کے مریض کو کرونا وائرس کا شکار سمجھ کر مریض کے اضطراب اور فکر کو بڑھا دیا جائے  کیونکہ طب کا اصول ہے کہ دو اور دو چار نہیں بلکہ باہیس ہوتے ہیں؛ اس کا مطلب ہے کہ اگر کسی کو دو حصّہ بیماری ہو اور وہ دو حصہ فکرمند ہو جائے تو بیماری چار نہیں ہوگی بلکہ گیارہ گناہ بڑھ کر باہیس ہو جائے گی۔ اس لیے غیرضروری فکرمندی سے بچئے ۔ انگریزی زبان کا ایک محاورہ ہے کہ "بلی کی نو زندگیاں ہوتی ہیں" یعنی بلی کو مارنا مشکل ہے جبکہ ایک اور محاورہ بھی ہے کہ "فکر نے بلی کی جان لے لی" گویا نو زندگیوں والی بلی فکر کے ہاتھوں ماری گئی ۔ اس لیے فکر اور پریشانی سے دور رہنا بھی " ایک علاج" ہے ۔
