Why tungsten in bulb gives light?
Why tungsten in bulb gives light?
PROF WAQAR HUSSAIN
Tungsten has the high melting point
3380 0C and has high resistance for flow of electric current. When
we switch on the electricity begins to flow, due to resistance tungsten
filament heats up alarmingly and being an incandescent material (material which
glow on heating), it starts emitting light. Its high melting point protects it
from melting thus it keeps on emanating light.
